Get on the road to a great career by earning your commercial driver's license through Kirkwood Community College, with Class CDL B training completed in one week, or Class A CDL training completed in just weeks through our partnership with Hawkeye Community College!
Our Transportation Program also offers DOT testing, endorsements, and driving refreshers for Class A CDL, Class B CDL, and School Bus drivers.
A coaching authorization is required to coach in middle school, junior high school, and high school in the state of Iowa. To get authorized, successful completion of a 55-hour course is required. Kirkwood offers a variety of online state-approved classes for you to fulfill this requirement.
The Nurse Aide program course at Kirkwood Community College is designed to prepare you to work in a long-term care facility. Find in-person and hybrid training, state testing, refresher courses, and important documents here.
Kirkwood Continuing Education offers a noncredit Pet Grooming Certificate to teach you skills and techniques to professionally groom and maintain the appearance of pets.
Program offerings include Hazardous Materials, OSHA, and Forklift training, provided in short-term training or contracted formats.
This program delivers a number of short, subject-specific workshops designed to upgrade the skills of existing operators and basic training classes in water and wastewater treatment for entry-level operators.
This CITA-Kirkwood Fire School is one of the largest in the State of Iowa and is committed to providing the highest quality fire training through efficient use of resources in meeting the training, safety, and education needs of fire service personnel across Iowa and nearby states.
