Welcome to the Kirkwood Wellness Website! Here you can find information about programs and services available to the Kirkwood community. Most classes and programs are housed in Kirkwood's Michael J. Gould Recreation Center.

The goal of the Kirkwood Community College Wellness Program is to provide programs, resources, and activities for employees that will help promote a healthy and active lifestyle. More specific objectives of Kirkwood's Wellness Committee includes:

*Increase employee participation in wellness program
*Decrease in employee health claims
*Noticeable, positive changes in health screen results over a period of time

UPCOMING EVENTS -

Flu shot on-line registration begins today! www.kirkwood.edu/flushots.
Once again, St. Lukes will be on campus administering flu shots on the following dates: Oct 28^th & Oct. 30th - Cedar Rapids Campus & Oct. 30th - Iowa City Campus (see the scheduled times below). The flu vaccinations are free of charge for full-time, part-time benefits eligible employees, adjunct instructors & retirees. At a cost of $24, non benefits eligible employees, spouses & children 18 and older of eligible participants may register for flu vaccinations. Also at a cost of $24 and on a walk-in basis, students may participate.

Kirkwood Wellness would like to encourage as many people as possible to get the vaccine, especially:
• People age 50 or older.
• People with chronic health conditions.
• Pregnant women.
• Health care providers.

Additional people who should consider it: international travelers; people that are also in confined office spaces; people that are in enclosed settings. It not only protects yourself, but it also protects the people that are around you.
