At Kirkwood, we strive to provide access and information on assistive technology tools to students, faculty and staff. We offer information and demonstrations of assistive technology software and apps.

What is Assistive Technology?

By definition assistive technology is “any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities” (Assistive Technology Act of 2004; Assistive Technology Act of 1988).
