I am Joshua Tibodeau from Marion, IA.
I am currently enrolled in the Graphic Communication Technology Program at Kirkwood Community College and will be graduating in May of 2006 with my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Communications.
I started the Graphic Communication Technology Program not knowing what to expect. I learned how to use Illustrator, ImageReady, and Photoshop to precisely manipulate images and create computerized illustrations for marketing materials. I can now design business cards, letterheads, brochures, menus, posters, and magazine covers. I learned techniques through photoshop that enable me to correct and manipulate photos for building images and improving the quality of the photographs. The knowledge that I have acquired from those three programs has taught me how to create simple animations for web sites.
The stepping stones for my interest in graphic design were a few courses I took in high school as well as my on-going interest in animation and audio-visual media graphics. In animation I enjoy the character development, story lines, and the artwork involved in scene development. When I finish the Graphic Communication Technology Program, I want to explore the job market and go to a four-year college for graphic design and/or animation.
