ECSEL Scholarship

If you’re pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science, you could qualify for a scholarship from the ECSEL Program at Kirkwood Community College!

This scholarship program is worth up to $5,000/academic year for up to two years.


Important Deadlines

Applications for the 2021-22 academic year open on October 1, 2020.

Applications are reviewed in March and July. All information (Application, FAFSA, and Recommendation) must be received by:

  • March 15, 2021: For first round of application review
  • June 30, 2021: For second and final round of application review

  • Successful participation in ECSEL-themed student experiences 
  • U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, national or refugee (eligible for financial aid) 
  • Full-time Kirkwood student enrolled in an approved ECSE area of study 
  • Demonstrated financial need through the FAFSA
  • Meet and maintain cumulative and ECSE GPA requirements
  • Complete the ECSEL application online

New Applications require a reference’s recommendation. This recommendation must be submitted by the reference using the ECSEL recommendation form.

New applicants are solely responsible for providing their reference with the recommendation form URL, and are responsible for its submission.
