Your Future. On Your Terms.

College students balance busy work schedules, family life, and countless other responsibilities. That's why we work to meet our students where they are.

We've risen to meet the need for flexible classrooms and alternative learning formats, so that Kirkwood students are now able to earn a degree online OR on campus — or through a mix of both options.

Take On-Campus Classes

Enroll in traditional face-to-face classes on our main campus in Cedar Rapids or one of our off-campus locations.

Take Hybrid Classes

Kirkwood’s hybrid courses allow you to meet in person regularly and complete the rest of your coursework online. These classes keep you on track without keeping you in the classroom. Think of it as an online course with a regular face-to-face meeting time. Please note: The amount of time you spend in class depends on the specific course.

To Find Hybrid Classes
Search for Courses

Start by choosing a term and subject (and specific course, if you know it). Click “Search.” Once you see your options listed, select the “Hybrid” option under Instruction Type. Then, you’ll see a percentage range listed within the section details to let you know how much of the course will be delivered online.

Take Online Classes

Kirkwood students can also choose from many online course options! Students enrolled in online classes experience the same levels of quality in faculty and have access to the same financial aid opportunities. In addition, there are several on-campus (and online) support services available to online students.

Courses are delivered in two main formats:

Online Anytime

Students can take these classes entirely online — anywhere, anytime. Online Anytime courses really give students the flexibility to work and learn at their own pace and on their own terms.
