This program may be taken on a part-time basis. After earning a Medical Assisting diploma, graduates are eligible to take the nationally-recognized Certified Medical Assistant exam. Most employers require certification within one year of graduation.
The Kirkwood Medical Assisting diploma program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).

Kirkwood offers more than $3 million in scholarships for students each year, and there are many specifically for students enrolled in health programs. Students in some programs may also qualify for the tuition-free Kibbie Grant.
