School Bus CDL Testing: Pre-Trip Only

This is the first of three required tests that you will need to pass prior to obtaining your CDL. You must pass the Pre-Trip test prior to taking the Skills Test and the Road Test. If you fail this test you will need to retake this test. To retake the test you will need to call 319-398-1022 to repay and register again for the test. There is a 24 hour wait time before retesting can take place.

Once you have registered and paid for testing, a Kirkwood representative will contact you to set up your testing schedule which cannot be scheduled for at least three business days from your registration date to allow us to get you registered into the DMV system.

Your schedule will be set based on availability of examiners. If you fail your test, you will need to re-register and pay any additional attempts.

• Permit (CLP) from the DMV dated at least 14 days prior to testing.
• A vehicle for testing and proof of insurance for that vehicle.
• Medical certification will be required if driving across state lines.
