Our Partnerships

Kirkwood is partnering across the Iowa City area. These partnerships expand access, strengthen community connections, and create more ways to learn - and the list is growing!

We are proud to partner with Dream City, sharing their mission towards empowering communities. Kirkwood's Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) team has been offering English language classes at Dream City for nearly a year, with enrollment and student interest continuing to grow each session. Building on this success, AEL is also partnering with the Dream City team to offer an entrepreneurship course that will provide participants with foundational business knowledge and skills.

Additional continuing education offerings in healthcare and more will be coming this fall.

We are excited to collaborate with the Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County (NCJC)With four locations throughout Iowa City, NCJC serves as a trusted community resource for local families.

  • Our teams are working closely with NCJC to connect families with educational and workforce services that support skill development, educational advancement, and employment opportunities for both adults and young adults.
  • Currently exploring a program designed to help non-native English speakers develop the language and workforce skills needed for careers within NCJC's childcare centers.
  • Plans are underway to create a "Kirkwood Corner" at NCJC locations, providing families with information about Continuing Education, Skills to Employment, Adult Education and Literacy, TRIO, and Community College in High School programs.
  • Kirkwood also plans to host a community engagement event at NCJC in January 2027 to showcase available services and strengthen connections with area families.

Located in Coralville, within Johnson County, Kirkwood's Regional Center at the University of Iowa provides local learners in our Iowa City area with traditional college credit programming and a wide variety of other services and support.

Aside from traditional programming, students can access Continuing Education courses. Current high school students can earn early college credit through various liberal arts transfer offerings and innovative, industry-specific Career Academies. Additionally, students have access to take college readiness exams, career counseling, financial aid, and academic advising services.
