Region 10 Career Tech Education

Preparing Students for Tomorrow's Jobs

It’s more important now than ever to make sure students are prepared for the careers of the future. That’s where the Region 10 CTE Planning Partnership comes in. Iowa’s regional planning partnerships help school districts deliver CTE programs effectively, efficiently, and economically.

Kirkwood’s robust CTE offerings prepare students for in-demand careers in CTE fields like agriculture, business, health sciences, and more, including the six key CTE service areas:

  • Agriculture, food, and natural resources
  • Arts, communications, and information systems
  • Applied sciences, technology, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Health sciences
  • Human services
  • Business, finance, marketing, and management

Perkins Program of Study

75% of CTE programs in each public high school will include a formal Program of Study by the year 2013.  To assist local districts with postsecondary education transition and to comply with the federal Perkin's guidelines, Kirkwood is conducting POS workshops for our high school partners.

The links below contain resources shared with high school CTE teachers at the various POS workshops.
