What if ...

What if ...

What if you could empower the next generation?

What if everyone who had a dream to learn, could? What if, together, we could grow our trades and fill the workforce gap? These are the questions we asked ourselves in planning our 2022 Fall Appeal. We hope you will join us in making these "what-ifs" a reality. Every gift is so important and very much appreciated.

What if Ryan never attended Kirkwood?

"I was set on a course to build sustainable residential houses. While I think that would have been a good career, I don't think it would have fit me as well as my career in the commercial industry. I have the ability to touch many more lives in the role I am in now, and I love seeing the way the companies I've worked with change the community around us. [Kirkwood] instructors are able to see many students a year and are apt at placing them in situations where they have a high likelihood of success.” – Ryan Lebeda, Construction Management, Class of 2013

What if Jessica never attended Kirkwood?

“If I never attended Kirkwood, I would definitely be doing something else, but I don’t think I would be as happy. I knew I always wanted to work with animals so Kirkwood kind of gave me a route to take for that, and I made a lot of really good connections here and really good friends.” – Jessica Fox, Veterinary Technician, Class of 2014 and Dental Hygiene, Class of 2019

What if Andy never attended Kirkwood?

“What if I never attended Kirkwood? I don’t think I would be where I am today. I don’t know that there’s much question about that. Kirkwood for me was really where it all started … [I was] involved obviously with Kirkwood student productions where we started the newscast. If I hadn’t fully fell in love with media yet, then that was certainly where the marriage was cemented.” – Andy Petersen, Communications & Media, Class of 2003
