Students will learn about direct patient care roles that help patients’ regain mobility, assist with rehabilitation, or manage chronic conditions while working in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, schools, outpatient facilities and private practice. Students will also learn about a variety of careers with indirect patient contact housed within an administrative office setting. Allied Health Careers Academy offers hands-on career exploration, allows students to engage with current healthcare professionals, learn the language of medicine, and earn relevant college credits for a variety of healthcare programs at Kirkwood Community College.
