Partners, educators, and parents — THANK YOU for another great school year! We are so appreciative of your support and advocacy in our work to connect today’s students to tomorrow’s careers. We look forward to collaborating with you next year and continuing to make a difference in the lives of our students!
My WLC internship was at Progressive Rehab in Williamsburg. I chose to do an internship in hopes of opening the door to career options and, hopefully, to find out what it is I want to pursue in the future. I spent around 32 hours in the workplace observing and learning about what it is physical therapists and physical therapy assistants do. Through this journey I discovered physical therapy in a business setting like this is not for me; however, what I did discover is the type of person I want to strive to be.
I spent a lot of my time working with Trevor, the physical therapist, and Julie, the physical therapy assistant. To say these people are some of the kindest, most caring people I’ve met is an understatement. I was welcomed into the building without hesitation. I learned valuable life lessons from these two that I will most definitely carry with me for the rest of my career, whatever it is I choose to pursue. Julie and Trevor had more of an impact on my life than I thought possible, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I am also thankful to Workplace Learning Connection for giving me the opportunity to do this internship.

Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) is one of our longest-standing partners in Washington County. Over the last 13+ years, WCHC has hosted over 80 job shadow students and eight interns for us. They have also participated in nearly 30 Workplace Learning Connection career exploration events such as mock interviews, career speaker events, financial literacy fairs, and worksite tours. We wouldn’t be able to help Washington County students explore careers in healthcare without the support of WCHC.
“WCHC recognizes the significance of introducing students to the wide array of healthcare opportunities, inspiring them to pursue fulfilling careers,” said Greta Clemons, WCHC director of marketing. “Through our collaboration with WLC, students can gain practical skills, foster innovation, and ignite their passion for healthcare. This partnership benefits both organizations and strengthens the healthcare community. We’re excited about our continued partnership with WLC and the opportunity to provide students with an interactive learning experience. We look forward to future collaborations to further enhance and excite students interested in healthcare professions.”
