Kirkwood welcomes people of all backgrounds and provides English language learner resources including an ESL program (free to community members), college-level ELA classes for credit and access to many resources.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Learn academic and workforce-based language skills for free, no tuition cost for this non-college credit education. Classes cover all skills, enroll in one class at a time. Four days per week, 90-minute classes, for seven weeks that start in July, September, October, January, and March.

English Language Acquisition (ELA)

Learn academic English for college use while earning elective college credit. Regular tuition costs (limited financial assistance available), the classes focus on one skill, enroll in multiple classes at a time. Classes available five days per week, 16-week classes start in August and January; summer classes start in May and July.
