Dance Marathon

Dance for the Kids

Dance Marathon is a nationally recognized event held on college campuses to benefit families of children who are facing life-threatening illnesses. As part of Kirkwood’s Dance Marathon, students raise money for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.

Kirkwood is the only community college in Iowa (and one of only a few in the nation!) that hosts its own Dance Marathon event. In 2021, we'll hold our fifth annual Dance Marathon!

5 Reasons to Get Involved

  1. It's tons of fun! Expect a night to remember, packed with free food, music, games, prizes, a photo booth, talent show, and more.
  2. It's a great way to make new friends! Who knows who you'll meet on the dance floor?
  3. It's uplifting! All of the money raised throughout the year is celebrated during the event.
  4. You can make a real difference! The money you raise through Dance Marathon supports families of children with life-threatening illnesses. They need your support.
  5. It’s a great resume-builder! The planning and fundraising experience you gain through Dance Marathon will look great to future employers.
